Beauty and the Beast set in the 20’s.

A Detective is cursed to become a beast by a Fortune teller who saw no love in his arrogant heart for others. The only way he can break the spell is to learn to love another and earn her love in return before his transformation completes. Beast takes refuge in an old inn at a grungy sea port. There he hires lackeys to bring forth to him beautiful woman to help break his spell. Beauty, a beautiful young flapper girl is brought to Beast and he truly believes she is the one but Beauty views him as nothing more than a monster as he views her as difficult and stubborn. But soon Beasts life is threatened when rumors hit the streets of him being a monster, stealing girls and eating people in their sleep. Beauty is forced to help him but the two soon become much better acquainted during their escapade. (totally ripped this off from the disney movie summary but HAHA you get the point. Be sure to check back at my Character Blog for upcoming sketches of these two.)

Things Kick Starter should be funding.

I would love to see alternative fairy tales to Disney movies! Maybe we’d finally get some fucking plus size, gay, handicapped, tattooed- ETC princesses! or more movies that aren’t JUST about finding a love interest like Brave and the Road to Eldorado!

For as much as people bitch about these things I don’t see anyone doing anything about it. We should all band together and make a studio and make these kinds of movies happen.

Someone else can take credit for the idea I just want a job if this ever gets off the ground. a character designer would be ab fab.

For the inside deets we went to the give back ghoul who started it all (aka Boo-lu Cerone). “A philanthro-party can be any clawsome party… as long as it has a philanthropic twist!” Boo-lu told our reporter. “It’s the most fangtastic way to help raise funds, goods, awareness or assistance for any creeperific cause a monster is passionate about!”

Okay: Here’s my main problem with this show.
It’s just Bratz all over again, except with references that I hold dear to my heart, so it’s all the more blasphemous.
And that sucks. It’s supposed to have legitimate monsters, which is already a pretty damn cool basis for a show as it is. Some of the designs are pretty creative as well, and if a competent artist was working on that show (ie: someone with knowledge of animation that goes beyond flash. And even then I’ve seen better flash animation than that) it could turn out beautiful.
But they’ve got Dracula’s daughter as some pretty pink pre-teen princess. I mean seriously- what the hell. Dracula’s daughter should at least behave something like a traditional vampire.
Also, pet peeve- FRANKENSTEIN WAS THE NAME OF THE DOCTOR, NOT THE MONSTER. FRANKENSTEIN’S MONSTER DID NOT EVEN HAVE A NAME. And yet this… show seems to think that it’s completely okay to just- GAH.
The voice acting. DEAR GOD, THE VOICE ACTING. The crappy dub-like recording was something I probably should have expected from a cheap excuse for a product knock off show anyway, but the fake accents really rub me the wrong way.
I tried watching the webseries for this show, and it turned out all they cared about was ~~cheerleading~~ excuse me, fearleading. Really. Really. Really.
The point was, I thought that maybe this show would bring about a new love for classic movie monsters towards pre-teen girls, and I was so, so wrong.
Someone show the poor kids Dracula or Frankenstein, Wolfman, or something, otherwise the poor children are stuck with fucking Twilight to give them Vampires and Werewolves, and nobody wants that.

maybe you should delve more into the franchise before deciding what its about

or maybe stop being so elitist about animation or monsters

or both
